The 5 new colours of Ekstrem

Varier is proud to announce the revival of the Ekstrem in five new colours, curated by Shane Schneck from Office for Design.

Not merely a chair but a stand-alone object, Ekstrem represents one of Norway’s first postmodern designs. The chair incorporates a playful display of contrasts, constructed of soft wool-covered foam over a sculptural steel frame. Ekstrem acts as a tribute to artistic freedom and creative imagination, and our hope is that the chair’s unique characteristics will continue to excite future generations. It is with great humility we take on the task of managing this unique part of Norwegian design history.
